64 Alliance members played in the annual 2 day event at Saunton GC. The 1st day was played in a challenging blustery wind with sporadic showers on the west course, day 2 (on the east course) was much less windy and predominantly dry. In the pairs Dan Wood and Dale Howarth from Ivy Leaf had an excellent 2 days winning both day 1 and 2 and the combined award with Chris Gill and Trevor Robinson from Newquay taking 2nd place from Grant Salter & Will Sumner (on 2nd day score) in 3rd. Chris Gill kept up his recent good form in a closely contested professional sector just taking the combined award by one point from Mark Rowe from Carlyon Bay. The players really enjoyed the event with the Saunton club making them most welcome with the accommodation and catering at the Saunton Sands hotel being superb.
